Christmas Memories

I remember Christmas before T.V, black Friday, so many lights, shopping malls and so many expectations....I remember when you asked for one thing for Christmas like a scooter or doll and were thrilled with whatever you got....Christmas stockings were one of your own and the biggest one you had and Santa filled it with nuts ,oranges ,candy and a dollar bill in the toe....and every year we had a special tradition just before Christmas we would take pillow cases and trudge through the woods and pick princess pine ( a little green sprout of pine that popped up under pine trees)...when our pillow cases were bulging we would go home and sit at the kitchen table and tie them into little bunches then we would take a coat hanger , form a circle of the bottom and tie the little bunches of pine close together to make wreathes..This was a fun time making wreaths for everyone, sitting around the table and laughing....so simple but a fond memory for sure.... ..So when Christmas rolls around every year I find myself wondering what I can make ...

As your older sister, this is one of my fondest memories, too.
Thanks for putting it on your blog as a reminder of our youth. Love,Phyllis

My latest interest..Machine embelishing

several years ago I found the art of needle felting ...I love creating dimentional animals and figures useing wool and a barbed needle..like sculpting......While takeing a class at my local quilt shop I mentioned it and they quickly asked me if I wanted a job teaching felting on their new machine...Wow!! I could not believe it!!so I purchased a machine to practice at home...I will post a picture of my first project....This machine is exciting I can see so much potential in it....so off I go in a new direction....I am excited at all I can learn and teach others...
