Christmas Memories
I remember Christmas before T.V, black Friday, so many lights, shopping malls and so many expectations....I remember when you asked for one thing for Christmas like a scooter or doll and were thrilled with whatever you got....Christmas stockings were one of your own and the biggest one you had and Santa filled it with nuts ,oranges ,candy and a dollar bill in the toe....and every year we had a special tradition just before Christmas we would take pillow cases and trudge through the woods and pick princess pine ( a little green sprout of pine that popped up under pine trees)...when our pillow cases were bulging we would go home and sit at the kitchen table and tie them into little bunches then we would take a coat hanger , form a circle of the bottom and tie the little bunches of pine close together to make wreathes..This was a fun time making wreaths for everyone, sitting around the table and laughing....so simple but a fond memory for sure.... ..So when Christmas rolls around every year I find myself wondering what I can make ...

Lets give it a try
Well, I love trying new things so here goes....My daughter showed me her blog and I have heard the word being thrown around so what the heck..I am not sure what i will write about as of yet ....I was retired until this past Aug when the need for a little extra cash sent me back to the want-ads..I found a part time job as an assistant in an after school program...Taking care of children for K to 5th grade after school until their parents come and get them after work....I just thought of it as a part time afternoon job at first but now I see its much more...providing a safe and happy place for children to be while their parents finish up their work day is very rewarding...listening to their daily adventures and helping with homework and playing games seems like I am getting the best end of the deal....Children breath life into you and energy..I had forgotten that....my hobbies are painting and sewing, quilting and just about anything creative...right now I am into a new art and that collage or altered art....I have tried watercolor, acrylic, oils, pastels and my favorite of those is watercolor....Now I am working with fabric and found objects.....Life is good after 65 believe me..real good
