Here are my latest creations on the Pfaff350

Embellishing Machine

I recently purchased an embellishing machine, its a Pfaff350 and I was asked by my local quilt shop to be their instructor ...well, I had to work up some samples and the more I used this machine the more potential I could see in it...I cant spend enough time on it...it is so simple to use, no thread, no attachments or tension...just sit down and use the 5 needles to felt fibers together ...this is my first sculpted project..its is two lilys and a pansy and a butterfly....

Emellisher post cards

I joined two Embellisher groups, I figured since I have an embellising machine now that I need to find out all I can...the pictures are of 5 postcards I made for one group and 25 one inch charms I made for another....I am totally enjoying this machine , its so easy and there is so much you can do with it...I hope to be publishing more work as I learn and you can see how I improve....these are my first efforts.....

Where has the time gone???

Gee, I have not posted on my Blog since Nov 2005...where did the time go???So I have a lot to catch up on...I guess what took up most of my time was starting a new partime job..Even thought it was only 3.5 hours a day it seemed like much more..I guess I don't have the energy I used to...I work in an afterschool program in an elementary school near my home...Its fun and a little challenging keeping things interesting for a group of kids from 1st-5th grade..I have to say even though I am tired every day I do enjoy it..So now I have the summer off ( one of the perks) and its been a busy one....But now I want to catch up...I have joined two post card swap groups , a bunch of fiber artist and quilters that make postcards and swap with each other.....It has been the best learning experience ..these ladies are great about swaping their techiniques and tips...So I am going to try keeping up my blog and posting some of my fiber art ..I am brand new to this form of art but it is very interesting and I am growning..... Here is one of my first really original cards and I hope to post more in the future....

Christmas Memories

I remember Christmas before T.V, black Friday, so many lights, shopping malls and so many expectations....I remember when you asked for one thing for Christmas like a scooter or doll and were thrilled with whatever you got....Christmas stockings were one of your own and the biggest one you had and Santa filled it with nuts ,oranges ,candy and a dollar bill in the toe....and every year we had a special tradition just before Christmas we would take pillow cases and trudge through the woods and pick princess pine ( a little green sprout of pine that popped up under pine trees)...when our pillow cases were bulging we would go home and sit at the kitchen table and tie them into little bunches then we would take a coat hanger , form a circle of the bottom and tie the little bunches of pine close together to make wreathes..This was a fun time making wreaths for everyone, sitting around the table and laughing....so simple but a fond memory for sure.... ..So when Christmas rolls around every year I find myself wondering what I can make ...

My latest interest..Machine embelishing

several years ago I found the art of needle felting ...I love creating dimentional animals and figures useing wool and a barbed needle..like sculpting......While takeing a class at my local quilt shop I mentioned it and they quickly asked me if I wanted a job teaching felting on their new machine...Wow!! I could not believe it!!so I purchased a machine to practice at home...I will post a picture of my first project....This machine is exciting I can see so much potential in it....so off I go in a new direction....I am excited at all I can learn and teach others...
